OUR PROBLEM
We found out that Over 96% of Gen Z want to learn another language, yet most struggle with retention, speaking, and listening—the very skills that make real-world communication possible. Despite this clear need, major language-learning companies continue to overlook these challenges, offering generic, repetitive lessons that fail to support how Gen Z actually learns. As a result, learners are left feeling disengaged, frustrated, and unsupported, even though their motivation to learn has never been greater.
OUR SOLUTION
FluenTree solves this problem by delivering a personalized, interactive learning experience that builds real speaking, listening, and retention skills. Using a starter survey to understand each learner, FluenTree creates AI-generated lessons and culturally relevant content tailored to the user’s needs and goals. This approach empowers Gen Z learners to make consistent progress and achieve true fluency—finally bridging the gap between wanting to learn a language and actually mastering one.
How We Implement AI in Our Language Learning App
Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a central role in how our language learning app delivers personalized, effective, and engaging learning experiences. By combining machine learning, natural language processing, large language models, and generative AI, we are able to adapt lessons to each learner’s needs, simulate real conversations, and provide continuous feedback without the need for live tutors. These technologies work together to analyze user behavior, simulate real conversations, generate customized lessons, and provide meaningful feedback—making language learning more accessible, engaging, and effective.
MACHINE LEARNING
Our app uses machine learning to continuously learn from user behavior—such as accuracy, response speed, and common mistakes. Over time, the system identifies patterns and adapts lessons to match each learner’s needs. This ensures that content becomes more relevant, effective, and personalized the more the app is used, similar to how Duolingo refines its learning experience.
CHATBOTS
AI-powered chatbots act as virtual language tutors, allowing users to practice real-life conversations in a safe and supportive environment. These chatbots simulate natural dialogue, helping users improve writing and speaking skills while building confidence and fluency without the pressure of talking to a real person.
AUTOMATIC SPEECH RECOGNITION (ASR)
Automatic Speech Recognition technology converts spoken language into text in real time. This allows the app to understand what users say and provide immediate feedback on pronunciation, clarity, and fluency. ASR helps learners improve their speaking skills and develop more natural accents through consistent practice.
NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING (NLP)
Natural Language Processing enables the app to understand and analyze user input in depth.
